About Cornet Lessons
I have offered cornet lessons for over 25 years and am fully qualified with a Diploma (above Grade 8) in trumpet playing.
I offer these lessons outside of Nottingham city centre in Arnold, at my home.
I teach all types of styles and genres and will provide lessons whether you are looking to just play for fun or to advance through the grades from 1 to 8 and above. I am also available to teach all ages and all levels, whether you are a beginner or advanced player.
Techniques during the lessons include:
- Fingering techniques
- Cornet care
- Breathing exercises
- Scales and arpeggios
- Sight reading
- Plus much more!
Lesson times, lengths and costs
Usually I teach my pupils weekly, however some prefer to learn every other week. I always encourage plenty of practice during the week off.
Cornet lessons last half an hour, an hour or 45 minutes.

Music theory
I always encourage the learning of musical theory when taking part in my lessons. This means that my students will learn how to read music properly which is a good technique for future playing.
Piano and Trumpet Lessons
Along with cornet lessons, I also offer piano lessons and trumpet lessons. Again, I have been providing music lessons for over 25 years.
